GOVERNANCE

Board of Directors

Little Bear maintains a Board of Directors who are responsible for the approval and review of the annual budget, overseeing and approval of independent audits, and the ongoing review of Little Bear's financial well-being. The Board of Directors must be comprised of a minimum 51% parents of children in the center.

Our current Developmental Board is comprised of family members from the current group child care facility. They are currently overseeing and helping guide the process of opening a new location. We welcome applications for Board members!

 Board of Directors Responsibilities

• To be responsible for ensuring that the goals of the child day care center are achieved and that the Corporation is effectively managed.

• To represent the Corporation both legally and morally. The Board of Directors carries the final responsibility and accountability for the Corporation’s existence and for its activities and programs.

• To ensure the Corporation is able to carry out the needed responsibilities.

• To attend to the Corporation’s own structure, to its committee structure, and to its procedures.

• To ensure there are policies for making and implementing decisions.

• To ensure there are policies about delegating authority.
